AcadyLearn ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website acadylearn.com and its associated services (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using AcadyLearn you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you create an account — via Google, Microsoft OAuth, or email/password — we collect your name, email address, and a profile picture URL (OAuth only).
2.2 Content You Upload
We store the files you upload (PDFs, lecture slides) so we can process them and generate study materials on your behalf. Uploaded files are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage and are accessible only to your account.
2.3 Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, quiz results, and timestamps. This helps us improve the product.
2.4 Payment Information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number or bank details. We receive and store a Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your plan.
2.5 Cookies & Local Storage
We use a single HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Process and extract text from your uploaded documents
- Generate quizzes, flashcards, and summaries using OpenAI's API
- Send transactional emails (account confirmation, subscription receipts)
- Enforce usage limits based on your subscription plan
- Respond to support requests
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your uploaded content to train AI models.
4. Third-Party Services
We share data with the following sub-processors to operate the Service:

5. Data Retention
We retain your account data and uploaded documents for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.
Documents you manually delete are removed from storage within 7 days.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Opt out of non-essential communications

7. Children's Privacy
AcadyLearn is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Security
We implement industry-standard safeguards including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage, and HTTP-only session cookies. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
